Typemountaineers, 14th edition

Slovenian type designers reunited once again in the Slovenian Istra region, in Kaverljag near Kopar from 28th July till 5th of August 2007. TipoBrda participants were headed by professor Lucijan Bratus from the Ljubljana’s Academy. Everything revolved around number 14 – fourteenth workshop, fourteen participants, mostly students. This year there were no visiting lecturers, but Tomato Kosir, one of the most loyal typemountaineers, made a successful debut as a co-mentor.

Typefaces made during this working gathering vary in styles and employments, which reflects affinities and sensibilities of participants. Since some of the participants attended last years workshop as well, we have the opportunity to follow and compare their professional development.

Near the end of the get-together, an appropriate exhibition was held, were not only the works from this workshop were presented but also the works from winter TipoBrda held in February in Trenta, on the Slovenian Alps.
